POWER SHUTDOWN: Utility Power

October 19, 2024, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm

Shutdown #1 (Utility power – 8 hours): Saturday, October 19th. 8:00AM-4:00PM
  • Building will be CLOSED, no access during the shutdown.
  • Emergency generator will power EM circuits (red receptacles in the labs, critical equipment plugged into the red receptacles will still be on.
  • We’ll need to prepare for this on Friday, October 18th before people leave for the weekend. Unplug equipment from regular outlets in labs and offices to avoid damage when the power surges on. No fumehood shutdowns are required.
  • Zoology IT infrastructure (web, file, licensing, database, authentication, ticketing, booking services, and compute cluster) will become unavailable from 8pm on October 18 till 8pm on October 19. Please plan your cluster jobs accordingly. E-mail service will not be affected by this outage. If you have any equipment in the BRC server room, please shut it down by 8pm on Oct 18.
