Bio:

I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Biodiversity Research Centre at UBC working with Amy Angert (Botany) and Greg Henry (Geography). My research interests include alpine ecology, global change biology, plant-soil interactions, plant species range shifts, and soil microbial ecology!  Prior to coming to UBC, I was a postdoc at CU Boulder in the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research (INSTAAR). I completed my PhD in Plant Biology in the Diez Ecology lab at UC Riverside and my Master's in Conservation Ecology and Sustainable Development from the University of Georgia in the Wurzburger lab.

Research highlights:

Among my research accomplishments, I have 10 first author publications in top journals, including Ecology Letters, Nature Communications, and Global Change Biology. My work is well cited (several papers have 50+ citations) and has been highlighted in recent publications and review papers. I have received over $300,000 CAD in grant funding, fellowships, and awards for my research including a 1) BC Parks Living Labs for Climate Change and Conservation grant, 2) Canadian Institute for Ecology and Evolution (CIEE) working group funding and 3) Biodiversity Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at UBC. I have presented my research at 10+ domestic and international conferences, including the Ecological Society of America (ESA), Canadian Society of Ecology and Evolution (CSEE), and the BC Protected Areas Research Forum (BC PARF), among others.
