We're excited to open the registration for the 2022 EcoEvo Symposium!! Registration form is here tinyurl.com/ecoevo2022.
Registration deadline is September 30th, and payment deadline will be October 12th.
Due to COVID, we will be hosting 2 separate days of talks/posters and activities rather than an overnight stay. Join your fellow biodiversity scientists in Brackendale, Squamish for one or both days! We encourage post-symposium outdoor activities (e.g. hiking, hanging out by the fire pit) in lieu of the usual indoor shenanigans.
We will be organizing a shuttle bus for round trip transportation for those who need it (included in the registration cost).
Don't miss out on a fun weekend of science, food and social activities with your colleagues!
We have two exciting plenary speakers to announce!!
Dr. Julia Kreiner - Sat Oct 22
Postdoctoral Fellow
UBC - Biodiversity Research Centre
website: https://jmkreiner.wordpress.com/
Tittle for presentation: "The tempo of weed adaptation to agriculture over the last 200 years."
Dr. Camilla Speller- Sunday Oct 23
Associate Professor
UBC - Department of Anthropology
website: https://sites.google.com/palaeome.org/adapt-ubc/home
Tittle for presentation: "Digging for Biodiversity: the power of
archaeological archives for reconstructing past environments and
ecosystems"
Hope to see you all there! Let us know if you have any questions and/or if you're willing to help organize- we can still use lots of help!!
Best,
Courtney, Gracielle, Fernando

Some questions we've been receiving (& answers!)
Q: Do I go for one day or both?
A: We understand that because there is no overnight option many people will prefer only going for one day, so we have made both conference days very similar in schedule (with talks, workshops and a plenary) so you don't miss out. If you can come for both days, great! We have a discounted price to encourage that :)
Q: Does the day end at 4pm?
A: No! The symposium will end at 4pm, but we encourage people to stay and enjoy the Cheakamus grounds and nearby trails afterwards! Take a hike through beautiful Cedars, visit the ponds or salmon hatchery, or have a fire in one of the covered fire pits. Enjoy some social time outdoors with friends. Q: When will the shuttle leave and return?
A: The shuttle will leave at 8am from UBC and will return around 8pm to UBC. Depending on who signs up and their needs, the return time could be adjusted. People taking the shuttle back can still enjoy the social time described above.
