Title: The evolution of Odonata: dragonflies and damselflies!
Abstract: Dragonflies and damselflies were among the earliest flying insects with living (extant) representatives. However, unravelling details of their long evolutionary history, such as egg laying strategies and dispersal has been challenging. Using a large anchored hybrid enrichment dataset we have reconstructed large tree of life for Odonata based on over 800 lineages, we compare the evolutionary history of key traits (based on this and a transcriptomic data with 100 lineages). The biogeographical history and divergence time estimates for these taxa suggest these global taxa diversified ~250 million years ago.
