The Biodiversity Research Centre encompasses a broad range of research
interests with over 50 faculty in several departments, half of whom are now housed in UBC's new Beaty Biodiversity Centre.
In addition to post-doctoral fellows working in individual labs, the
Biodiversity Research Centre provides financial support for post-docs conducting
original research on core problems in biodiversity through our NSERC-CREATE Training Program in Biodiversity Research. View the advertisement and the current and past Biodiversity post-doctoral fellows here.
Graduate students make up an integral part of the Biodiversity Research Centre. To become a graduate student,
contact the faculty member with whom you
wish to work and apply for graduate studies through the relevant
department. The NSERC-CREATE Training Program in Biodiversity Research provides partial funding for some graduate students, regardless of country of origin; all graduate students applying to work with BRC faculty are eligible.
Past Members - The Ceiling
By tradition, graduating M.Sc. and Ph.D. students and post-doctoral fellows sign the
ceiling. The old ceiling, in the lounge of Hut B8, was demolished to allow for the construction of our
new home in the Beaty Biodiversity Centre. The ceiling was archived
online, and can be viewed through its own website: The Ceiling.
